Pets effortlessly bring so much happiness into our lives.

The thought of just having them is very exciting and rewarding.

They make us laugh, comfort us when we are sick or sad, and just be there for us every time.

It’s no wonder that the bond between human and a pet is the best. Not everyone understands, but most of us love them so much and are willing to do everything for our pets.

If you know someone who loves pets so much, or you have a friend or a family who likes being around them, you might be wondering how to make them feel special or surprise them once in a while.

Surprising, your pet loving friend can be a tricky thing, but it can certainly be a rewarding experience. If you are out of ideas on what to do, then you are in the right place. We made this guide to help you and discuss a few ways to surprise your pet-loving friend. Continue reading.

Bring Them to a Pet Cafe

A pet cafe has been a popular theme for dining places nowadays. This is due to the fact that you can see and interact with animals while you enjoy your meal or drinks.

Pet cafes started from common pets like dogs and cats, and it caught a lot of attention from locals and foreign tourists everywhere. Because of the attention and support it receives, there are now plenty of cafes with different animals such as rabbits, birds, and even sheep.

You can bring your friend into one of these, and you can guarantee that they can get up close and personal with them.

Some of the cafes support causes like rescue pets from a shelter, give proceeds to a foundation or, feed and help stray animals. This is also a good bonding moment for both of you.

Whenever you’ve had a tiring day at work or just randomly want to surprise your friend, this dining date can be a pet therapy to brighten your day. Skip your regular dining choice and spend time with lovable pets. This type of cafe can give you all the love and happiness you need.

Give Pet Merchandise

Giving your friend pet merchandise is a no- brainer, although it may seem like a very practical gift, the receiver will think of it as a thoughtful one.

The best thing is, you can find pet design gifts everywhere. If your friend is into art and design, you can get her a painting or caricature of pets to liven up their house.

If they are more into traveling, then you can get a luggage tag or a suitcase cover with animal print to remind them of their pets while they are away. You can also give the perfect Gossby Personalized Mug perfect for house or work use for tea or coffee break.

They can be customized to any design or print that you want.  There are also toys and board games that are animal-inspired, whether they like Animal Plushies or Lego Animal Creations.

Like mentioned, there is a long list of items that are perfect for animal lovers. These gifts are also perfect for any occasion and for everyone no matter what age and gender. You can be assured that these items are something they will love and treasure like their furry friends.

Donate to a Pet Charity or Shelter

Donating to a pet charity might seem unusual, but it is a thoughtful way to surprise your friend. There are plenty of charities that help people and the environment, however, based on studies, the largest animal-based charities have only one-tenth of donations compared to other large charities in the USA. Many shelters and organizations for the animals barely have money to cover all of their expenses. You can donate to your local shelter or look for the best organization that helps animals.

The largest ones are the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). If you want another charity for pets and for humans too, you can donate to Pets for The Elderly, which provides companionship to senior citizens through pet ownership.

There are also Patriot Paws Service dogs who train and provide service dogs to disabled veterans. Donating to support a friend’s cause is helping make a difference. It doesn’t have to be a big amount, just donate freely, and you can certainly make your friend and a pet happy.

Give Them a Pet

Giving someone a pet for a surprise is frowned upon, but if you do it in the right way, it can be the best thing that will happen both to your friend and the pet. There are a lot of things to consider.

• Are they ready for it? – You should thoroughly research and ask if your friend is ready for a pet. Every animal is different, and you should get a pet that will match your friend’s lifestyle. You should also consult everyone at home with your friend –  both for their choices and their confirmation.

• Can they afford it? – Having a pet will be expensive, between the food, veterinary visits, and other miscellaneous expenses. Make sure that before buying a pet that your friend can afford to have them. It would result in negligence if they didn’t provide for the pet properly.

• What type of pet will they like? –  A pet is a lifetime companion, make sure that the pet that you are getting will be a good and fit companion. Cats can be low maintenance but are your friend a cat person? Dogs are warm and cuddly but can your friend take care of it full time?

There are so many considerations in giving a pet, and as the giver, it’s your responsibility to make sure that the receiver will like them. A pet is a good “surprise,” but still, you need to subtly ask or let the person now about the pet so they can get ready for the responsibility.

With a couple of ways mentioned, you can certainly make your friend happy. You just have to ensure that in everything you do, you always have to think of the other person involved first. This way, you can guarantee that you are making the right decision.
